Monaco hosted a military ceremony as part of the 81st General Assembly of the International Military Sports Council (CISM). The event took place at the Prince’s Palace Square, despite overcast weather and light rain.

At around 11:20 a.m., HSH Prince Albert II arrived and was received with military honours. The ceremony, organised under the direction of Colonel Tony Varo, included honours to the flag, the performance of the Monegasque and CISM anthems, a troop inspection, and closing honours.
Delegations from more than 80 countries took part in the assembly. CISM brings together over 140 member states and is one of the largest international organisations in military sport.
During the event, an exchange of honours took place: the Prince of Monaco was awarded one of CISM’s highest distinctions, while the organisation’s leadership received recognition from the Principality.
The organisation of the event required coordination between several services, including the Corps of Carabiniers and the Fire Brigade, which ensured security, logistics, and the management of delegations.
In addition to the official programme, the event included sports activities. A rugby tournament was held at Stade Louis II, aimed at promoting the discipline within the framework of international military competitions.
Hosting the assembly and related events reflects Monaco’s role as a platform for international cooperation in the field of military sport.
