Monaco Investigation Continues After Suspected Assassination Attempt

The investigation into the suspected assassination attempt that took place in Monaco on 29 June remains highly active, with Monegasque authorities continuing to work closely alongside their French counterparts, according to a statement released by the Office of the Prosecutor General on Tuesday.
The Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the minor victim has now been interviewed in France, while the two other victims are still not in a condition to be questioned due to their medical circumstances.
Authorities also reported that the individual who sustained the most severe injuries remains in critical condition, with doctors stating that the person's prognosis is still life-threatening.
Investigators are continuing the forensic examination of all evidence collected at the scene. Particular attention is being given to the explosive device used in the attack and efforts to identify the individual responsible for placing it.
Earlier on 1 July, a foreign national was taken into police custody in Monaco as part of investigative checks. However, prosecutors clarified that the individual was released later the same afternoon after the necessary verifications had been completed.
The Direction de la Sûreté Publique remains fully mobilised as investigators pursue multiple lines of inquiry under the supervision of the Prosecutor General. Officials added that further public statements will be issued should significant developments arise or if the legal framework of the investigation changes.
