Monaco Reaffirms Commitment to Safeguarding Living Heritage at UNESCO General Assembly

The Monegasque delegation was led by H.E. Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Monaco to UNESCO, alongside Célia Bernasconi, Director of the Heritage Institute, Sèverine Dusaintpère, Deputy Permanent Delegate, and Eden Mathis.
During the Assembly, Monaco highlighted its ongoing work to identify, document, and inventory the Principality's intangible cultural heritage, ensuring that traditional knowledge, craftsmanship, and cultural practices are preserved and passed on to future generations.
A State Party to the Convention since 2007, Monaco also reaffirmed its support for UNESCO's efforts through contributions to the Fund for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. The delegation emphasized the importance of integrating living heritage into education and strengthening international cooperation to protect cultural diversity.
Adopted in 2003, the UNESCO Convention now brings together 185 States Parties and serves as the principal international framework for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage worldwide.
